Too Faced x NikkieTutorials The Power of Makeup Collection

It's a match made in cosmetic heaven! One of the biggest names in makeup right now and the social media beauty guru sensation have teamed up to bring us one of the most anticipated collabs of the year!

YouTube star, NikkiTutorials, is most famous for her "The Power of Makeup" video. In this video she called out all the makeup shamers. Makeup is supposed to be fun, and you do it to make yourself feel good. not to try to impress or "fool" anyone. Nikkie did half of her face in full glam and left the other side bare, and she started a revolution. Almost every beauty guru on YT has taken on the challenge, Be proud to show that cakeface, it's beautiful!

Hearing that Nikkie got the opportunity to collab with Too Faced Cosmetics was super exciting. Nikkie loves high quality makeup, so we knew that this collab was going to be bomb!

Let's take a look at what Too Faced says

"Too Faced teamed up with global beauty megastar NikkieTutorials to create this limited edition collection, The Power of Makeup by Nikkie Tutorials, to celebrate the transformative power of makeup. Her exclusive collection features everything you need to create endless looks.

A $209 value!"

Honestly, I have a love/hate relationship with this set. Let's talk about.

                                                                 1. The palette
Single pass finger swatches

There's been controversy regarding this palette. People have pointed out that  the video where Nikki introduced us to this palette, was the only video where she has just showed us swatches instead of actually swatching. There have been some inconsistencies in swatches. For instance, above are my personal swatches and these are Nikki's swatches....

Whatever palette she has must have better formula's than mine, unless she was lying about the swatches, which some people have insinuated. I love Nikki so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say the blame falls on Too Faced for this one. I don't hate the eyeshadows by any means, I still use it.

It's a very Two Faced color scheme, and all the colors are wearable. I find the super metallic shades like Frosted Yum (bright silver), and Irresistible (gold) have fallout and you have to build them considerably if you're using them on their own.  Wanted (Black), is crap. It feels rough in the pan and the pigmentation sucks. How do you mess up a black eyeshadow? Makeup and Chill (deep brown, gorgeous in the crease), and Wham Bam (purple) are my favorites. They both blend nicely for me and have good pigmentation. The others are good as well.

As a WOC, of course I can't use the cheek products as intended, so YAY! I HAVE 4 MORE Eyeshadows. But for those of you that can use the cheek products, here's what you need to know...

1. You get two Love Flush Blushes, They blend out nicelyand have good pigmentation
- I will always Love You (orangey peach)
-Justify My Love (bright pink with gold glitter)
2. You get a Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, a cult favorite
3. You get a highlighter in shade Champagne Truffle, which was originally an eyeshadow shade in the Chocolate Bar palette. It's super light, Beware!

2. The Set

The selling point of this set for me was the little goodie bag that comes along with the palette. It helped me justify that price tag (which is $56 USD btw). You get...

1. A full size Sketch Marker in shade Deep Black. Its a fantastic eyeliner. You can read my full review on the Too Faced Sketch Markers Here
2, You get a mini 24 hour Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer. I had never used this primer before purchasing this set, and I'm impressed. I may like it a little more than the UD Primer Potion.
3. A purple special edition mini Better Than Sex Mascara
4. A Deluxe Glamour Dust in shade Glitterly. I wish they had put a sifter on top of this. IT IS MESSY AS HELL!

You get 5 Items for $56
I give this set a 6/10. I still recommend it overall, especially if you're light enough to use the cheek products. Its Fab-ish
