Favorite Brushes: Contour
3:36:00 PM
From Kim K, to drag queens, contouring is all the rage. It is the art of using makeup to create shadows and light, tricking the eye into seeing a different, more sculpted bone structure. When done correctly it’s beautiful and let’s be honest when I don’t contour…..
Yeah exactly. It’s part of my everyday makeup. In my opinion to contour correctly, you need a tool to place your contour correctly and one to blend it out into a shadow. Your tools will vary based on what type of contour you opt for. I personally prefer powder contour, which loosely translates into I suck REALLY REALLY BAD at cream contouring.
Anywho, for my favorite contour brushes, I have to give to the drugstore again for the win. I have a two very affordable contour brushes from e.l.f, both for $6 a piece. I have the e.l.f. contour brush and the e.l.f. sculpting face brush. I use the sculpting face brush to contour the cheeks, it’s flat topped but curved at one end, so it hugs the hollows of the cheek perfectly and is densely packed. The contour brush is a larger version of of the sculpting face brush but with its straight across. I use it redefine my cheek contour line with highlight powder, and to contour the nose.
